Yesterday, we said goodbye to our fabulous Father David. We have been blessed to have Father David supporting St Edwards Church Romford for the past three years. Throughout this time he has been unwavering in his support for the congregation, making time for everyone, whilst working tirelessly in increasing our work in social outreach, and particularly increasing our offer for our younger congregation. He has taken every opportunity for them to widen their knowledge of the church teachings, and work with the local community, always giving up time to talk to people who need help. We will miss Father David and wish him every success in the future. We will be praying for you in your next adventure and look forward to hearing all about it. With every good wish from all of us here! Don’t be a stranger!
At today's beautiful service at St Edward's Church Romford, we welcomed the family of Peter Medcraft. Peter was a dedicated Sacristan and Head Server for 40 years. The new Easter Candle stand is a gift to the church from Margaret in memory of her husband Peter. Today as you can see the candle stand was blessed by Ven Mike Power, Archdeacon of Southend and former vicar to St Edward's Church, Romford. It was lovely to welcome Father Mike back home. Thank you to Margaret for the beautiful gift. We remember Peter fondly, and this is permanent reminder to the congregation, of all his wonderful work for St Edward's Church.
A massive thank you to Kevin Clayton, our guest preacher who has spent some time at St Edward’s Church. Kevin is a parishioner at the Good Shepherd Church in Romford and has been working at St Edward's to explore his further journey with the church. It has been great getting to know Kevin and we look forward to watching your onward journey as you progress, with Gods blessing.
