As we approach our Harvest this year, we continue to celebrate and give thanks for God’s blessing. In 2021, at our Harvest (26.9.21), we officially opened The Refectory. The old church hall had been transformed into a place of welcome for all, an extension of St Anne’s church with Jesus Christ to be in the centre of all that was to take place there. The Refectory has gone from strength to strength, and Jesus is indeed at the centre of all that takes place there. Events for St Annes and for our Benefice are held there. Recently we had our Celebration of Sport – you may recall that ‘sport for all’ was a motto in our country – ‘Jesus’ Love for all’ is our motto. This week we celebrate again, Pendle Borough Council came to inspect The Refectory and gave a 5 rating. Thank you Lord. Do come and visit us. All are welcome!
Thank you to all those who worked in the background, all those who came and helped run activities, and for all who took part. On Saturday, the extremely hot weather did not deter our youngsters from participating in fun activities. Our Refectory was busy, as was the Refectory Garden with lots enjoying the BBQ. On Saturday the youngsters enjoyed listening to football stories from Oscar, asking questions about life in the football Leagues. On Sunday the weekend rounded off with a Celebration service in church, certificates were given out to the youngsters and prizes too.
