Join us for our annual quiz night on Friday 6th October at 7.30pm in Seagrave Village War Memorial Hall. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, but please bring your own food, drinks, utensils, etc for the half-time supper break.
On Friday 2nd June, we will welcome the eight voices of Mosaic to Seagrave church – Loughborough’s answer to Voces8 - bringing us a varied programme of beautiful music to suit all tastes. Their repertoire ranges from Bach to the Beatles and includes sacred and secular classical masterpieces along with settings of folk songs, spirituals, jazz standards and popular music. Recent programmes have included extracts from Rheinberger's Mass in E flat; a Swingle setting of a Bach fugue; Holst's Nunc Dimitis; Three Spirituals (Good News, Battle of Jericho, Steal Away); Eric Whitacre's Sleep; settings of Beatles' songs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYSjHduK09s); Johnny Mandel's Shadow of Your Smile (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkEr54VWj1w) and Hamilton's Cry Me a River as well as their best YouTube hit, Blue Skies by Irving Berlin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0oGyg_e5BY . Concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 (under 18s, £5), to include interval drinks and light refreshments.
We have a donation box in the church porch for the Soar Valley Community Food Project where people can leave donations of dry or tinned goods. It is emptied regularly and the contributions taken to the hub at Mountsorrel Baptist church. If you need help from the Food Bank, please do get in touch with us, in complete confidence.
