The "Well Seasoned Singers and Players" presented a varied programme of folk carols and winter songs to a full church on Sunday afternoon, 3rd December. Donations to Rainbows amounted to over £230 and £120 was raised for the church. Did you know that there are many different tunes to the words of "While Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night"? Each village had its own music, and sometimes added a chorus to their carols, so there were variations right across the country. There is still a strong tradition of village carols around Sheffield, the West Country and elsewhere. Look out for "Well-Seasoned" performing near you next year!
