Today we held a special service of Holy Communion to mark the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of her son, King Charles III.The service ended with the proclamation and the singing of God Save the King.The church had been open for two days this weekend for quiet reflection and prayer. A Book of Condolence was made available.Next Sunday's service will be communion by extension led by our reader.Also this week, we have prize bingo on Tuesday afternoon in the hall and the usual coffee morning on Friday in the hall 10.30 to 12noon.
The church gardening and maintenance team resumes this week, meeting at 10am. Any help gratefully received, followed by refreshments.On Tuesday at 1.30pm, the Mothers Union meets in the hall when the speaker will talk about the remake of Beamish Museum. Everyone welcome, this is not a members' only event.Looking further ahead, we are holding what we hope will be the first of a regular monthly bingo session, in the hall on September 13 at 2pm.
