On Candlemas it is a tradition for Christians to bring their candles to their local church, where they are blessed and then used for the rest of the year. These blessed candles serve as a symbol of Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the World. If you are attending church, you are invited to bring one candle from your home, perhaps the one you use for private prayer, and it will be blessed. As you leave church today, you will be given a lighted candle, a symbol, taking the Light and Love of Jesus Christ with you and to others.

We welcomed professional footballer Oscar Threlkeld to share his faith and also answer lots of questions from young (and old), about life as a footballer. At the time, Oscar was unsigned due to a cruciate ligament injury. The rehab was challenging but his dedication and discipline have paid off and Oscar is now signed and playing for Morecambe (Shrimps). We wish him well
