BBQ Grateful thanks from us all to all those who helped at the recent BBQ: Team John on the grills and Team Wendy in the kitchen as well as those who kindly donated puddings. A most enjoyable evening! Jumble Sale is THIS Saturday (10-12). Please do what you can to help. Setting up will be on Friday evening from 6pm. Help is also needed at the sale itself, and items for sale (which may be left at the back of church. Please see Wendy if you can offer any help. Thank you. Gardening Our monthly tidying of the church grounds is this Saturday between 2 and 4pm, if you can spare a bit of time (or at any other time, as well!). Good Shepherd, Furnham Fr Julian will begin having informal oversight of this parish from Oct 1st, for an initial trial period of three months. Please pray for the two parishes and for Fr Julian. Glastonbury Abbey Fr Julian will be saying mass at the Abbey this Tuesday at 10.30am, so there will be no mass here at Holy Trinity. Sharing Together This month's discussion group will be held at the Vicarage this coming Thursday (25th) at 7.30pm. Please note there will not be a meeting in September. Flowers This week flowers have been donated by Anne Kearle in memory of Val & Vera Sampson Anniversary. These are available after services for £6, to include the first drink (soft drinks ad lib) Do come along! Jumble Sale Saturday 27th August 10-12 in the Church Hall. Donations of clean, saleable items in good repair welcome. Small household item but no electrical goods. Offers of help on the day would be appreciated. Please see Liz Hathway or Wendy Burge for more details. Posters are available at the back of church for your front windows or local shops, if you’d be kind enough to display. Lend with Care We have received a number of repayments over the last few months from all 15 people who we are supporting with a loan, this has meant that we can offer a loan to Dixie in the Philippines. Dixie wants to be able to buy her vegetable stocks in bulk so that she can sell at a more affordable price to help her regular customers. They are all grateful for our support in helping them to set up their own businesses and improve their lives. Thank you for your support. New Gloria We are introducing a new setting to the Gloria. NOTICES Gardening Thank you, all who helped yesterday clearing and tidying the church grounds. It was well worth the effort! David Knight RIP David’s funeral will be at Kingston St Mary this Tuesday (2nd) at 12 noon. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Covid Because of the recent 'spike', and the fact that more of our congregation have contracted Covid in the last few weeks than at any other time, please do be careful. The choir will not sing in procession at the beginning of the Parish Mass; instead the plainsong 'propers' will be sung until the procession has entered the chancel. A few hard copies for those not online will be available at the back of church. David Bendall is giving an Organ Recital at Temple Methodist Church Taunton. Sunday 7th August. 7.30pm. This is a fund-raising event for Temple Methodist, with a retiring collection. Church Bells Work has begun in the tower for the new bell-frame to be installed, which hopefully will be this week. After that, the refurbished bells will be hung. Photos of them in all their new glory are on display at the back of church.
