Dear Friends All of us want to return to ‘normal’ regarding Covid requirements. Sadly, we are far from ‘normal’ at the moment. Infection rates have tripled since the government issued new guidance. Taunton has amongst the highest infection rates in the country. Hospital admissions have increased, and so have, sadly, deaths. It is now considered that infection is more likely to be air-borne rather than through touch. With this is mind, the church council considered what our response should now be. This is that face masks become optional except in formal procession or entering the church; social distancing remain; hand sanitising continues. Holy Water stoups will be refilled, but the water changed weekly. Holy Communion will continue to be administered as present, with the option of receiving from the chalice, and the Peace will continue to be exchanged non-physically. There are also some ‘behind the scenes’ changes. All these will take effect from Palm Sunday, 10 April. All of us have a responsibility to care not only for ourselves, but also for one another. That’s part of being a Christian, so please note the above. With my prayers and best wishes Fr Julian
