Two resources for anyone to use for personal reflection and prayer during Lent, whenever the church is open:(1) Stations from our Ash Wednesday service, for reflection and self examination. These remain available for the first few weeks of Lent.(2) The Way of the Cross. A series of stations of the cross featuring the striking artwork of Nicholas Markell, depicting biblical scenes of Jesus' betrayal, trial, suffering, crucifixion and then resurrection. A booklet with short readings, prayers and reflections is available to guide you round the stations.
On the first Sunday of Lent, 18th February, we are pleased to welcome our Bishop, Christopher, Bishop of Southwark, to preside and preach at our 10:00 Parish Eucharist.The service will be followed by a simple lunch of homemade soup, bread and cheese.All are welcome.
Lent Group - "The Grace of God", Tuesday evenings in church A series of bible studies on the theme of ‘The Grace of God’. Tuesdays in Lent, starting 20th February (no meeting on 19th March). Starts at 18:30, or come early and join in Evening Prayer at 18:00. Led by Roland Bates.Lent Group - "One body, one bread", Saturday lunchtimes in the Vicarage A more informal group exploring together how and why we celebrate Holy Communion. Saturdays 17th & 24th February and 9th & 16th March (NB not 2nd March). Starts at 12:30. Led by Rev'd Jim at the Vicarage (16th March will be in Church).
