We are excited to announce that Bethany Austin will be joining the St Bartholomew's family on the summer as Curate*. Bethany will be moving from Liverpool, where she currently works as a verger at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, and will be ordained Deacon at the end of June.Look out for an article from Bethany in the April edition of Sydenham Life.*A Curate is a sort of apprentice Vicar - they spend around 3 years working alongside an experienced priest as part of their training.

Two resources for anyone to use for personal reflection and prayer during Lent, whenever the church is open:(1) Stations from our Ash Wednesday service, for reflection and self examination. These remain available for the first few weeks of Lent.(2) The Way of the Cross. A series of stations of the cross featuring the striking artwork of Nicholas Markell, depicting biblical scenes of Jesus' betrayal, trial, suffering, crucifixion and then resurrection. A booklet with short readings, prayers and reflections is available to guide you round the stations.
