'You're on light duties' I was told, which I completely misinterpreted. Instead of putting my feet up, I was required to hang lights, affix baubles and generally liaise with the expert team obviously on loan from London's west end ;)Actually what really happened was while the three pictured did the hard work, I stood around on 'media' duties, hung the lights wrong, moved the tree about six inches and attached about three baubles. The result, however, speaks for itself and I hope you'll be visiting over the Christmas period to see for yourself.
As part of Caterham Christmas Market on 2 December, St John's had a pop-up (when Rosie arrived it was a pup-up) stall in Church Walk.Just 50p would allow you to take a lollipop from the mass of lollipops and if the stick was coloured, a prize could be claimed. I had a couple of goes and won ... two lollipops :)Rosie the red-nosed reindeer proved popular and camera shy in equal measures. Despite sleigh bells, Rosie would not look at the camera.Much thanks goes to those who minded the stall and dispensed prizes, Christmas service postcards and fellowship to all.
It's all quiet now. After the hustle and bustle of St John's Christmas Fair, the lights are out, the bunting's put away and everyone's gone home for a well deserved rest. The preliminary results suggest a profit of over £1200, a tribute to the organisation, hard work and generosity of those who came to the fair. So, thanks everyone!
