Dear friends, Warmer weather is round the corner – the frosts and bitter winds of February can’t last forever! It could get stormy though – just like our lives at times. Have a read of this week’s Thought “Shelter from the Storm” and be encouraged to get to know Jesus, the one who calms the storm, a little better.This Sunday is the second Sunday before Lent, and I want to tell you about an exciting opportunity to explore the Christian faith further in small groups. Our Lent course, Alive in Christ will be on Wednesdays from 12th March for 5 weeks. There’s a choice of Wednesday mornings at 11-12:30 at St Giles, Copmanthorpe, or Wednesday afternoons at 14:30 – 16:00 at the Parish Room in Bolton Percy. Dear Friends,Greetings to you all this Valentine’s Week – I hope we are all feeling the love and not too fed up with the sea of red and pink in all the shops and on our social media feeds. I love the way St Valentine’s is marked in Mexico as El dia del amor y la Amistad, which means “Day of Love and Friendship” and is celebrated with family and friends – nobody is left out!Michael has written an uplifting Thought (attached) about how a little light in a dark place goes a long way. Anyone following the progress of the General Synod might feel in need of some encouragement!Ever wondered who the weathered Knight is on the right hand side of the altar at Holy Trinity Church? Or indeed, the little windows behind the choir stalls? Or the church’s links with the English Civil War? And what on earth is a Ledger Stone? Hope you’ve all got Catrina’s tour of Holy Trinity next Saturday in your diaries – I’m sure the answers to all these questions and many more will be answered.
