Our very own Angela Walton won 1st prize for an eco friendly container of wild flowers. This was touching as they were grown from seeds given out in memory of Dawn McFadyen. Angela was highly commended in the category for wild flowers grown in an unusual container - wildflowers grown in a straw hat! The winner had grown flowers in a set of bedside drawers! Prizegiving is at 3.30pm on 4th September at the Methodist church. Contact kathyrn Heyworth for a full list of categories and winners kathheyworth@hotmail.co.uk The morning was a great opportunity to visit our Refectory Garden, which sadly had not been entered!. It was alive with butterflies and honey bees. Our churchyard too is eco friendly as it is not mowed and again sadly was not entered!. Next year…..
Our monthly time of singing followed by a 2 course hot lunch continues throughout the summer. We joined in singing hymns that bring comfort and peace. Next session is Tuesday 26th August.
We met at The Refectory for the summer party. We heard the story of The Prodigal Son, and the party given for him on his return to his father’s house. We played party games and ate a party tea! Thank you to all who help with these worship times for our youngsters. Please click the link to view more pictures!
Revd. Tony (pictured right) led the service and played in the worship band. Revd. Alex from St Bartholomew's and Holy Trinity Colne and Bishop Philip also participated. We worshipped, sang, prayed, listened to the Scriptures and heard testimonies of the transforming love of Jesus at work in peoples’ lives. Good to be all one in Jesus Christ. For more pictures click the link.
