We visited St Joseph’s Prayer House and were welcomed by Sisters Sue and Judith, and we joined in their Day of Office, saying the Terce and Sext with them.It was a day of silence so that we could connect and hear God speak to us. A new experience for some….There will be another Retreat to experience in the New Year so do look out in the newsletter to book your place.
It was a wonderful joyous occasion, with excellent music and singing from the Cathedral choir. Here Reverend Jane is pictured with (L-R) Interim Dean of the Cathedral, Andrew Horsfall, Joe Bishop of Burnley, Jill Bishop of Lancaster, Philip Bishop of Blackburn, Archdeacon of Lancaster David Picken. Please hold Jane in your prayers as she takes up her new office.
The Roaming Nativity is coming to St Anne’s! Friday 19th December at 6pm NOT TO BE MISSED Look out for details about this wonderful event as we tell the Christmas Story
In the 26 days leading up to and celebrating Christmas, we will be exploring the writings of the 12 Minor Prophets. Andy writes in his preface: “The Twelve anticipates the great day(s) when the LORD will intervene and act… This Advent, as we prepare for the big day of Christ’s return in judgement and salvation by examining ourselves and returning to him, let’s attend to the message of the Twelve.” The booklets (free) will be available in both our churches on Advent Sunday.
