Most of the restrictions on worship imposed in response to the pandemic have now been relaxed in both our English and our Welsh churches, although we would ask everyone to be aware of the needs of those who may still feel vulnerable, and observe a measure of social distancing when moving around the church. The wearing of masks during services is now optional and singing is warmly encouraged.HOWEVER we have one request as a result of the easing of restrictions, which is that you should not come to church if you have any Covid-like symptoms at all. We are very sorry to discourage anyone who wishes to join us for our services, but we feel this is the best way to protect everyone in the community while the virus is still a threat. If you are unable to join us in person, you can find a Serrvice for Use at Home on Pentecost elsewhere on this page. It includes a thanksgiving prayer for the Queen's Jubilee. [PHOTO: Jacob King / PA Wire Images]

Events in Presteigne to mark the Platinum Jubilee of HM The Queen include a Flower Festival in St Andrew’s Church, organised by the Presteigne and Borders Floral Art Society. The church will be full of glorious displays, arranged by local organisations on two themes: Queen Elizabeth’s long life and reign, and recycling. Entry is free, and there will be musical performances at various points during the four days of the festival. The church will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June, and from 2 to 4 on Sunday 5 June. Refreshments will be served in St Andrew’s Church Hall, on the opposite side of the churchyard from the hall, while the exhibition is open. On the morning of Sunday 5 June there will be a special Jubilee Festival Service at 11 am, which all are very welcome to attend.
