Welcome:
We are an Anglican (Church of England) Parish within the Diocese of London, Haringey Deanery.
We are one parish, two church buildings in the Heart of Tottenham.
St John’s Church was built in 1939 just on the A10 (Great Cambridge Road, N17). It is nestled between Laburnum and Acacia Avenue. It was recently redeveloped and re-imagined with new and improved spaces and a new block of flats built on the land behind the St John's Church, just on Acacia Avenue with a new Community Hall. A new nursery will be accommodated in the new hall. Our worship at St John’s is similar to that of St Paul’s our second church building which can be found on Park Lane, N17.
St John's worship style is mainly within the Anglo-Catholic tradition with some variations in order to meet the spiritual and social needs of our community. There is a youth led service every third Sunday of the month; a regular traditional communion service every fifth Sunday of the month, and a messy church for families with small children every 1st Saturday of the month. There are other mid-week services to meet the needs of those who may find Sunday's difficult. Like St Paul’s, St John’s is a welcoming, lively and warm place to be.
St Paul’s original church building was built between 1858-1859 on Park Lane, N17 and this was demolished to make way for the current building, built in 1976 and nestled within a block of flats - a response to the social housing crisis. We worship every Sunday within the Anglo Catholic Tradition, with Holy Communion, Bells and Incense and being the largest congregation at the moment we tend to have lots of celebrations, to which you are very welcome. We also have mid-week services and bible study to which you are very welcome if Sundays would be difficult for you. St Paul’s is a welcoming, lively and warm place to be.
Please see the schedule for both Churches under "Services and Events." You are welcome to attend any of our services, events and activities at any of the two church buildings. We look forward to meeting you soon.
Both St Paul's and St John's Churches have lots of spaces and facilities for rent. Whether that would be a simple meeting, exercise class, party, receptions of any kind, musical events, theatre productions and art exhibitions.
