The Friends of Kent Churches Ride & Stride takes place on the second Saturday in September each year. 50% of the money raised goes to the church or chapel chosen by the participant. The remaining 50%, plus any gift aid, goes into a fund administered by the Friends of Kent Churches, to be distributed in grant aid for maintenance of Kent churches of any denomination and age, provided they are in use as churches. Further details about the event can be found on the website: www.kentrideandstride.co.uk. Participants plan their own routes, with the assistance of a printed list of churches and
chapels open on the day. Riders and Striders seek sponsorship, which is recorded on their sponsor form. Participants can take part for as long or short a time as they wish between 10 am and 6 pm. Those welcoming at the churches can also be sponsored.

Parish Practice
Together with the Church of England, SS Peter and Paul, Leybourne is committed to the care and nurture of all within our church community.

We have adopted the House of Bishops Promoting a Safer Church Policy, Safeguarding Policy Statement, which is displayed prominently in the church and can be viewed at the link below.

The Policy was reviewed by the Parochial Church Council at its meeting on 23 April 2023 and has been re-adopted as best practice.

All members of the Parochial Church Council, Children’s Church leaders and helpers have undertaken appropriate Safeguarding training. Those in contact roles are also subject to checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

If you are concerned about something you have experienced in a church, now or in the past, or you are worried about another person - perhaps a vulnerable adult or a child – there are people you can talk to, and you will be taken seriously.
