Church Grounds and Memorial Garden

The area immediately surrounding a church is commonly referred to as 'The Graveyard'.

However, in modern times this has become a bit of a misnomer, although the grounds of St Peter and Paul at Leybourne has many graves, it is also used for the scattering of ashes from cremation services and has a memorial wall for this purpose.

The new name of 'Memorial Garden' has been adopted to better describe the purpose of the grounds.

For those using the Memorial Garden there are brown garden waste bins, green recycling bins and black general waste bins available. These are, generally, at the rear of the Church, unless it is 'Bin Day'!

There is a water tap available inside and to the left of the entrance gate.
