Safeguarding

St Margaret of Antioch – Safeguarding Statement.

At St Margaret’s Barming we take the care of all God’s people seriously, as such we are committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance*

A formal statement to adopt the House of Bishops’ “Promoting a Safer Church; safeguarding policy statement” was agreed by the Parochial Church Council and recorded in the minutes of the meeting on 25th May 2022.

Our safeguarding officer is Mrs Emma Collins, her deputies are Mrs Leah Gardner and Mrs Sue Shardlow.

We have a safeguarding team, who meet a minimum of three times a year, to review all safe guarding matters.

We follow the guidance from the Diocese of Rochester, and national church.
Following the guidance all people working with children, young people or vulnerable adults are safely recruited, and undergo appropriate training and DBS checking.

Safeguarding information is displayed at all our church venues.
