Under the terms of the Ecclesiastical Offices (Age Limit) Measure 1975, not having been granted an extension by the Bishop, the Rev'd Roger Knight is obliged to retire on 30th November 2024, his seventieth birthday.  Having been appointed on 2nd January 1987, he is the longest ever serving incumbent of Halling.

A Service of Holy Communion will be held at St Michael's Cuxton on 11:00 Saturday the 30th November. Everybody is welcome and after the service there will then be refreshments served in the church hall. In addition to the service and celebration on 30th November, there will be a buffet in the White Hart at Cuxton from 12.00 noon on Friday 29th November with an open invitation to everyone.
