Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the season of Lent, and there are two services in the parish that day - one at 9.30am at St Paul's and one at 7pm at St Matthew's. Both services will have Holy Communion, and the opportunity for 'ashing' - receiving the sign of the cross on the forehead, as a reminder of our mortality.
