We are delighted to receive enquiries about Baptism/Christening, from those living within the Parish of South Gillingham. If you live outside the parish, please approach your local church unless you have a particular connection with one of the churches in our parish.
Those interested in baptism are encouraged to visit the church for some Sunday services in the first instance, to experience worshipping with us, and to introduce yourself to one of the ministry team and begin to get to know the congregation.
If you wish to pursue baptism, you will need to attend a Baptism Preparation Session - these are held regularly on Saturday mornings, about six times a year. Once this is done (and both parents should attend in the case of the baptism of a child, unless there are particular reasons why this is not possible) we are then able discuss dates and venues.
Baptisms take place in any of our four churches, at the main service on Sunday morning. Please note that the smaller church buildings have limited capacity, and we may need to restrict the number of guests in those churches.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Parish Office if you have any queries or speak with one of the Clergy or Lay Ministers.
The next baptism preparation session is on 21 September.
