About Erlestoke Church
Erlestoke Church was built in 1880 after the old Church of Saint James had been demolished. This was so that the local landowner could have an uninterrupted view from his house! Today that house forms part of the HM Prison Erlestoke complex, which falls within the parish boundaries.
There is a regular once a month service on the 4th Sunday of each month and additional services for special occasions.
Erlestoke is known for its warm welcome, and its many events which bring the small village of Erlestoke together.
The church has won an award for its design, and it is at the centre of village life with bookswaps, Council meetings and other events regularly taking place there.
