Christ Church is facing exciting renovations, as with the sale of the Lambert Rooms, we will be able to invest wisely and offer itself as a community space with opportunities for local groups to use the church. With a new kitchen and toilet facilities planned, this is a transitional time for this well loved church. Responses to our survey of the local community were very positive and architects plans were approved by the Diocese. The money from the Lambert Rooms sale needs to be topped up by our fund raising. To do this the project has been split into two. Discover Christ Church! includes safety work on the ringing chamber, new lighting and conservation of wall paintings. With a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this strand is now fully funded and work has begun. Future for Christ Church will provide the much needed toilets and kitchen, plus an office space for the benefice. We have added to the building sale proceeds by parishioners fund raising and some grant funding, and the amount to be raised is diminishing.
