Raising funds for Wiltshire Historic Churches (including our own) This year Ride and Stride is joining with the parish walking group to enjoy a day out walking and visiting churches.
Anyone intending to join us, details are as follows:
Start: Meet at the bus stop in the High Street at 09:55 in time to catch the number 99 bus at 10:10 towards Malmesbury (remember bus passes if you have one). Route: (approx 4 miles). We will alight at Little Somerford and walk off-road to Malmesbury. Whilst there are several stiles and gates, these are in good order. We should reach Malmesbury at around 12:30 where we will visit 4 churches then aim to catch the return bus from Malmesbury to Bassett at 13 :45. This will allow time for a half hour refreshment stop (Jackdaws in the Cross Hayes has been recommended). On our return to Bassett we will visit a further 4 churches.
Remember to bring your “churches visited” form with you along with water (also sunscreen and hat if the weather is likely to be hot) and wear appropriate footwear.
