The Ark is Open...
The Ark was was officially opened on Thursday 28th July 2022 by Rod representing The Salisbury Men's Shed and David the New Forest Woodman. David had provided the wood for the Ark in return for a donation to the local Salisbury based charity, Alabare which was presented to the Chief Executive, Andrew Lord during the opening. The Ark was sprayed with fizzy water by the men and Vicar Andy cut the ribbon.
Members of the church and the local community were joined by the Mayor of Salisbury Tom Corbin and our MP John Glen. In addition, Emily from Two Bird Experiences brought "Merula" the American kestrel and "Ruby" the red-tailed buzzard to sit on the Ark and rainbow. Some mini beasts also joined us! Inside, the Ark Exhibition showed the journey of the Ark and included designs from the artist at the Salisbury Men's Shed and the children from Exeter House School, St Mark's Junior School and Wyndham Park Infants School. They really are very good! The exhibition also included a letter from Sir David Attenborough sending his regrets he could not join us!
The church is open on Saturdays between 11.00 and 1.00 when refreshments and Ark merchandise are available. The Ark is open for anyone to visit. Services are at 10.15 on Sundays with refreshments available from 10.00
We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the making of the Ark and hope you will remain in contact!
