Dear Villagers,

DSL celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla will take place on the Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend. The programme will be in the form of a group viewing of the Coronation from Westminster Abbey, in our Church, followed by a ‘Bring-Your-Own’ picnic, in the field next to the play park.

A large screen will be placed in the Church for all to view. The village tent will be in the field where we will all be able to watch on another screen, the Royal Family on the Buckingham Palace balcony observing the RAF fly past. We have kindly been donated 2 barrels of beer, so we can celebrate in traditional British style! In keeping with the day there will be a ‘Coronation Quiche Competition’ prior to the picnic, the best 3 quiches will be awarded prizes! The recipe for the official quiche is available at www.royal.uk

The aim of the event is for all villagers to come together and have some fun on this momentous day. If you have visitors, bring them along they will be most welcome.

Timings:

1000 - TV coverage screened in the Church

1315 - Move to field

1330 - Quiche Judging

1340 - Picnic commences

1415 - Flypast (timing TBC)

Apart from the start time all others are subject to change.

Boring but necessary!

- The tables need moving from the village hall, so anybody who can help, please be at the hall entrance for 0900. We will need to return them at the end of the day.
- We have a ‘First Aider’ - Dr Rob
- Plastic Beer Glasses will be provided
- Horses normally graze in the field, so please ensure no items that could harm them are left behind when you leave
- Be wary of traffic when moving from the Church to the Field
- This is an unoffical event, so we all attend at our own risk
- If you think your neighbour does not have this email please invite them verbally
