Maj Gerald Hamilton Wicks OBE actually died in 1921, but worked through the Great War in the Porton & Winterbourne military sites, travelling frequently to operations on the continent, where he recived 3 Mention in Despatches. Relatives, including grandsons from Brazil and Portland UK met on 25th November to pay their respects, attend a memorial tree planting and visit the Defence Centre in Winterbourne Gunner
