This is a free community event in Love Your Burial Ground Week & The Great Big Green Week for families, to raise awareness of our local wildlife and to encourage everyone to use and enjoy the churchyard, respectfully. For noisier recreation, please use the playground opposite the Church.
Join the Citizen Science project Churches Count on Nature to survey the wildlife in the Churchyard, using pen & paper, camera, sound recording and identification books, and/or iNaturalist app and Merlin app. (There are instructions for using iNaturalist app available as a PDF download, link below.) The results will be collated and added to the National Biodiversity Network atlas. This is similar to the Big Garden Bird Watch, but covers birds, animals, insects, plants.
You are most welcome to come and join in, or just come and sit and chat.
