Blister Pack Recycling

Occurring

Venue
Village Noticeboard
Address
Village Noticeboard, Britford, United Kingdom

Do you take medication that comes in a blister pack? If so, the empty packs usually go into the waste and then into landfill. Now, there is a scheme to recycle these.

We have a collection point this month at the Village Noticeboard. A volunteer will be waiting to accept your empty blister packs from 9.15 am to 9.45 am on Tuesday 18 February.

In order for these packs to be recycled, they must be disassembled and the constituent parts recycled in different ways. This incurs a cost, so we are asking for a contribution of £1 for every 50 packs.

St Peter's

The ancient village of Britford (pop 560) is 1 mile south of Salisbury, with beautiful views of the Cathedral from the water meadows. It is a small community with no shop, but proud of a very successful cafe with delicious homemade food. Longford castle is at the southern end of the village, there is a fish farm and two other farms and for centuries the sheep fair was held in Britford.

Longford C of E Primary school serves children from the surrounding area. There are a few families in Britford with children but most of the residents are retired.

Safeguarding

Our parish of St Peter's in Britford is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Safeguarding Officer (BSO). Our Diocese of Salisbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our BSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm, please contact the BSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
