St Laurence Church, Downton
Welcome to St Laurence Church, at the heart of the parish of Downton, just six miles south of the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury.
Our church is here for everyone, in times of happiness, trouble and spiritual need, and for the support of individuals and the Downton community. You will always find a warm welcome here - and we hope that you will find out!
We recognise that everyone has different was of worship, and we have a variety of services from quiet and traditional, to our more informal Café-style Church, and All Age Worship.
We are very proud of our strong musical tradition, with our regular choir, organ and bell ringers. We hold a Sunday School in our small room at the back of church for school-aged children.
We host regular events, catering to a wider audience, including an annual Jazz concert in the church yard, our Goose Fair at Michaelmas, and Downton Band also hold regular concerts.
Our church is open daily during daylight hours for private prayer and for visitors. Please do take the opportunity to visit us, explore our historic surroundings, and join us as we pray together for the life and wellbeing of our local communities, and the wider world.
With love,
Veronica
