A said service of Holy Communion with a short sermon. We use traditional language at this service and we use the Book of Common Prayer on the first Sunday of each month.

A service using modern language with hymns and a sermon and followed by refreshments in the hall. Once a month this service takes the form of a Family Service, usually 3rd Sunday but this may sometimes be moved to coincide with special Sundays. Do check with us if that helps.

Saturday Church for everyone, 3rd Saturday of the month 10 - 11am. At the moment it is once every two months. This is All Age with worship, breakfast and a variety of activities. Very suitable for families. There are activities and crafts for adults, children and toddler play.

Muddy Church is a family-friendly and fun-filled Eco event which takes place once each calendar month in the parish hall and churchyard. It takes place either on a Saturday morning 10.30am - 12 noon or on a Sunday afternoon 3 - 4.30pm. Weather permitting we like to include outdoorsy fun that is good for both us and the planet! So far our events have included Hedgehog Day, painting bird boxes and making bird feeders, going potty about herbs, making compost, and crafty things such as making Christmas wreaths. Exciting Christmas Fayre with craft stalls, additional stalls, games, tombola, big prizes raffle, refeshments and cake. Santa wil be visiting at 11am to see the children. Suitable for all the family with lots for children too.

A beautiful candlelit service in church with all the lovely Advent Carols and Anthems (note, not the Christmas carols yet!). The service starts at 5pm but there is an Advent tea of cakes and tea and coffee in the parish hall from 4pm, and all are welcome.

Our fabulous Christmas Tree Festival, taking place on the day of the Broadstone Christmas Parade, Saturday 7th December, 10am - 4pm, and also the afternoon of Sunday 8th December (2-4pm). FREE ENTRY both days, with cakes and drinks on sale in the parish hall on Saturday. If you purchase a programme of the trees for £1 then it entitles you to a free drink in the parish hall on the Saturday only. Santa will be seeing the children in his grotto from 3.15pm also on Saturday only. There will be a follow the star nativity trail, and crafts for the children to do. You are invited to place coins in the jars of the Christmas trees you think the best and the trees which make the most will be declared the winners. All proceeds go to St John's for the upkeep of their buildings.

Our fabulous Muddy Church Christmas Party in which one of our Christmas crafts will be making our own Christingles. This will end in a ten minute Christingle servcie for all the children and families. FREE EVENT with party games and food. Please contact the church to book your place so we know numbers.

A fabulous traditional 9 Lessons and Carols service with the Braodstone Community Band. Coem and enjoy the Christmas carols we shall sing and hear the Christmas story once again.

It is OK to not be feeling great this Christmas. The Church will be open from 5pm for you to pop in to light a candle and say a prayer. If you wish, please join us at 6pm for our Longest Night service, a short half-hour reflective service to bring comfort and hope. Also opportunity to light a candle at this service.

Come and spend half an hour joining the community at 11am to sing carols in our churchyard! (We will decamp indoors if the weather is bad!)

Our 3pm FREE EVENT on Christmas Eve is very popular and we are thrilled that our two live donkeys will be joining us again, with petting and photo opportunities after the service. Join us for the retelling of the Christmas nativity story. We invite the children to come dressed as their favourite nativity character - a star, sheep, shepherds, angels, Mary, Joseph, the kings, a donkey - whatever - as we recreate that wonderful nativity scene! This is a magical event for the whole family on the afternoon of Christmas Eve.

A quiet said Christmas Day Eucharist at 8am, and then our Sung Eucharist at 10am with carols and surprises. The perfect way to begin Christmas Day!
