About Us
St John's is a unique chapel tucked away in the small Pennine hamlet of Newsholme, and forms part of the farmhouse of Church Farm. Founded in 1844, Newsholme Church was originally a chapel of ease to Keighley Parish Church, and became part of the Parish of Oakworth in the 1970s.
The Church building is open for private prayer and visitors during daylight hours and provides a quiet place of prayer and pilgrimage for occasional walkers who may pass as they follow the attractive footpaths across the hills.
The Sunday congregation is made up of local people and some residents of Oakworth, and a warm welcome is extended to visitors and local people.
