Throughout its history, the Church of England has connected with people as they reach major milestones over the course of their lives and at the end of them. The church offers a variety of services - to celebrate a marriage, to mark the birth of a child and to commemorate a life that has ended.
All the Parish Churches of the Stour Vale Benefice are here to serve all those who live in the parish, and can often help others with connections to the villages through life’s events too.
Baptisms
Also known as a Christening – all the churches in the Benefice are delighted to help welcome your child into the community. To learn more please contact us via the ‘Get In Touch’ page, or find out more about Church of England Christenings here.
Weddings
Marrying in church is personal, meaningful, spiritual and a beautiful event and the churches of the Benefice regularly host Weddings.
As this is a significant and legal life event, there are things you need to know, so please do look through the helpful information on the Church of England website by clicking here. Some key points are summarised in our brief guide to weddings – see link below.
Funerals
If someone you know and love has died, a funeral led by a Church of England minister can be held in church, in a churchyard, by a graveside, or at a crematorium.
Funerals are usually arranged by the Funeral Director but we do have more information on the Stour Vale Benefice website here, or on the Church of England website here, to help you think about what you would like.
