St Michael de Rupe

St Michael de Rupe is the parish church of Brentor. Located at 1100 feet on the top of Brent Tor, it is one of the highest working churches in England. Regular services are held from Easter to Michaelmas (the end of September), and occasional services throughout the winter. However, the church is always open for visitors and pilgrims.

The church was founded in 1130, although most parts of the structure you see date from the 13th and 14th centuries. As we approach our 900th anniversary, we are proud to carry on the tradition of praise and worship in this holy place.

Safeguarding

The Brentor Parochial Church Council fully recognises and accepts the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy Statement “Promoting a Safer Church 2017”, and commits to complying with the current Church of England and Diocesan safeguarding policies and practice guidance. We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Rob Ormsby, 07368 305833. Our Diocese of Exeter’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO at [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor at [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police on 999, and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
