Courses - Gentle and Lowly
Gentle and Lowly
St Mary Magdalene Church in Chulmleigh will move away from the lectionary to look at a new study over the coming weeks.
On Sunday 13 June 2021 we will start on a new shared teaching series looking at the book “Gentle and Lowly - The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers” by Dane Ortlund.
Christians know what Jesus Christ has done—but who is he? What is his deepest heart for his people, weary and faltering on their journey toward heaven? Jesus said he is “gentle and lowly in heart.” This book reflects on these words, opening up a neglected yet central truth about who he is for sinners and sufferers today.
The study will develop further our understanding and experience of God through Jesus and will build upon our journey through the Old Testament and John Mark Comer's book God has a Name on God’s own description of himself to Moses found in Exodus 34: 4-7.
