This Lent I am going to be running ‘Come and See’. Come and See is an annual Lent Course designed by the Bishop of Oxford that explores in depth a different theme each year. This year the course is focusing on baptism.

Come and see is designed to be accessible for both experienced Christians and people still very new to faith. The trailer for this years course can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqezVMUDnCI

I will be running these sessions weekly during Lent on Fridays at 2.30pm starting on Friday 14th March at the Rectory.

As part of the Come and See course you are invited, though it is not mandatory, to sign up for the short daily emails that will offer readings, prayers, and reflections that will feed into what we look at when we gather together. You can sign up for these emails here: https://mailchi.mp/oxford.anglican.org/come-and-see-2025

I have run this course for a few years now and it has been an insightful spiritual journey each time.

I look forward to journeying with you all this Lent,

God bless,

Rev Miles

St John the Evangelist

St John the Evangelist Church at Countisbury is a sister church to St John The Baptist at Lynmouth.  Both churches are part of the Lyn Valley Mission Community Group of Churches.  St John the Evangelist is a beautiful country church and each year we hold a series of evening "Epilogue Services" which are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.  These take place on a Sunday Evening at 8.30pm during the end of June, July and August.

You can read the latest Mission Community newsletter in the notices menu.
