About Us
St John the Baptist Parish Church dates back to the 11th century. It has a congregation of around 25 people. Its links with the neighbouring local Community Primary School are very strong, and clergy are warmly welcomed into the school for assemblies. The school fill the church three times a year for Easter, Harvest and Christingle services. It has fine views over Bideford Bay from its large churchyard. Open 10-5 daily with visitor information provided. (not during lockdown). Extensive churchyard records on hand. We have small church room to let opposite the church where coffee is served on Sundays. The parish is a member of the Taw and Torridge Estuary Churches with St Peter's Fremington and St Peter's Westleigh.
Services at 9.30 am second and fourth Sundays. First and Third 9.30 at Westleigh and every Sunday at 11.00 Fremington
Our services in winter are held at All Saints Chapel on the B3233. qv. after Remembrance Sunday.
