West Wall Revive Project

Due to its landmark position on the seafront Pip and Jim’s Church has been exposed to the salt and storms since 1856 and needs ongoing urgent repairs.

With our major, long-term phased Heritage Restoration Project we want to ensure that this
important and prominent building at the entrance of Ilfracombe Harbour is fit for multi-purpose use and safe for future generations of our local community.

The first phase of this restoration was completed successfully in 2022 when the damage to the stonework and pointing on the Tower and Nave was repaired at a cost of £90,000.

Now, thanks to the generosity of so many of you, intensive fundraising and grant funding, we are very pleased to report that work has now started on our WEST WALL REVIVE PROJECT!

At a total cost of £624,000, this is to repair the stained glass, tracery and stonework of our wonderful West Wall, and to provide a new servery and disabled access in the West end social area of the church. It has been made possible through generous grants from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Benefact Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, National Churches Trust, The Beatrice Laing Trust, Sabina Sutherland Charitable Trust, and Viscount Amory's Charitable Trust.

We are hoping to be able to kit out the servery and social area with new equipment, so would be very grateful indeed for any further donations for the project.
