Once again we are delighted to have been able to hold a Christingle Assembly in each of our Primary Schools in December. EVERY child in Kingsbridge Primary and West Alvington C of E Primary was able to make and take home a Christingle. The Christingle comprises an orange with a red ribbon round the middle, four sticks of sweets or dried fruits and a candle on top. Christingle came to us from the Moravian church where it was created as a symbolic representation of God's love for children. It has been adopted by The Childen's Society as their main annual fundraiser. However big or small the gathering, there is always a special moment with an audible 'aah' when the candles are lit.The Christingles are a gift from the three churches to the children of the Mission Community.
Thank you to everyone who supported our launch event on 19th April. Gifts totalling over £1000 were received but we still have a long way to go towards our target of £80,000.Following a fungus/mushroom theme, our creative parishioners brought crafts, photographs and limericks. here are a couple:There once was a church in trouble,We feared it would fall into rubble.
