Thank you to everyone who supported our launch event on 19th April. Gifts totalling over £1000 were received but we still have a long way to go towards our target of £80,000.Following a fungus/mushroom theme, our creative parishioners brought crafts, photographs and limericks. here are a couple:There once was a church in trouble,We feared it would fall into rubble. For Dodbrooke we prayThere must be a wayTo get our church out of this muddle.While we sit and study theology,Above us is growing mycology.To get rid of the sporesCome join our cause And loud will resound our Doxology!
We have had fungal fruiting body as a result of dry rot which has necessitated closing the Chancel and Lady Chapel for worship and to visitors. Now we must raise the extra money needed to repair the damage and keep this beautiful, old church open.We are launching the FtF Campaign on Friday 19th April with a GIFT DAY.
