About Us
Evangelical Church of England - traditional worship - 11.00 am Sunday morning services - with our Vicar once a month and supported by Licensed Lay Readers, and visiting Clergy. Holy Communion Order 1 with the Vicar or by extension usually on the 3rd Sunday, but this can vary so please enquire if you don't want to miss this service.
Fifth Sundays - United Benefice Services with other Churches in the Benefice of Coast and Country (Blackawton, Stoke Fleming and East Allington) in alternating Churches.
Rev Matt Gorton usually takes the service in Strete on the third Sunday and we have the benefit of our very special resident readers; Jenny Harris and Peter Barker, who are supported by visiting Clergy on the other weeks. We always look forward to seeing our regular worshippers, plus anyone on holiday or just visiting the area, or even new to the area - you are all so very welcome and please stay for tea, coffee and a chat after the service with us!
St Michael's Church was built in 1836 as chapel of ease for Blackawton. We have a sloped access ramp at the entrance and a small car park in Hynetown Road opposite the church.
