About Us

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is the ancient parish church of St Marychurch, on the northern edge of Torquay. It has strong relationships with the local community, especially the parish primary school. 

We are a parish church firmly in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England, and this is expressed in our liturgy. The Parish is registered with the Diocese of Exeter as a Petitioning Parish to preserve a traditional male ministry with regard to the sacraments.  We  will be under the episcopal oversight of the new Bishop of Oswestry when appointed.
