We are a partnership of two friendly evangelical churches in the wonderful seaside town of Paignton. Our sister church St Paul's is the parish church for North Paignton.
So it's a new decade - maybe a time for resolutions! So why not take the opportunity in the midst of all today's fears and uncertainties to consider where is God in all this?
The most eternally significant questions you can ask are 'Who is Jesus?' and 'What does his life and death on the cross mean to me?'
We believe that the answers to these and many more existential questions are found in the Bible and each week at Church and in House groups we explore them and what the Bible has to say.
No one is more important than anyone else and everybody has a valuable contribution to make.
So if you haven't been to church for a while (or if you've never been before) and you'd like to give it a try, we would love to see you. You're welcome to join us at any of our services whether you have been a Christian for sometime or you are just beginning to wonder what it's all about.
At Christ Church we believe that God loves all people, young and old and everyone in between.
Whatever your story, the church is a place for anyone and everyone who wants to find God.
Our main service is at 11.00 on Sundays. 1st and 3rd Sunday includes Communion. Our style is to be reverently informal, with a mixture of modern and traditional songs.
We also open the church on Wednesdays at 12.00 midday for private prayer and visitors are welcome.
We are always pleased to welcome visitors and you would be very welcome to join us. You don't have to be a believer to come to church - we all start off as seekers, but we believe that those who come truly seeking God will surely find Him.
Oldway Primary School, the largest primary school in Devon with up to 700 pupils, hold three services a year, Christmas (picture above), Easter, and Harvest Festival when the pupils comes to the church.
"The parish of Paignton: Christ Church is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Exeter’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
Jesus is at the centre of our teaching, worship, fellowship and practical concern, and we seek to make Him the centre of all that we do. We are always delighted to welcome new people to our church - and that includes you!
We meet twice for Services on Sundays. At 8.00am we celebrate Communion using the Book of Common Prayer. It has traditional language but many find it a helpful, quiet service to draw near to God and reflect on the wonderful words written so long ago.
Our main morning service is at 9.30 and consists of a mixture of modern and traditional hymns, sometimes with Communion
Church is not just for Sundays and we have many things going on in the week. There are groups meeting for adults, young people and children on the church premises and in homes, and the halls are used extensively for church and community events.
If you have been wondering about God and would like the chance to explore Christianity then why not come along - you would be very welcome.
Perhaps you are new to the area, visiting, or on holiday, if so we would love to see you.
If you are looking for a place of worship, enquiring about the Christian Faith, looking for activities for yourself or your children - whatever your reason for coming - we would love to meet you.
