2024 saw us continuing to identify whatever wildlife we found in the churchyard.  Thinking just of the invertebrates, we found 195 new ones taking our total to 551 of which 289 are moths mainly found by using moth trapping.

Even on 6th January, 2025 six new species of invertebrates were added.  A great aid to ID has been a new camera which can take photos on a microscope setting allowing us to identify 2-3mm long bugs.

The number of plants goes up by a few each year - now 154, but we're hoping to get more by starting on identification of mosses!

Lichens were the subject of a lichen improvers' group back in June which more than doubled our list - now a total of 60.  This is quite a hard group of species to identify!

Do look at the attached files for the latest lists of each group
