Have you, or has someone you know, encountered bereavement? In Finding the Mourning Light, Andrea Corrie, Bampton-based author and member of St George and St Paul’s church, offers some tools to help us find ways to live through grief and loss.
‘Finding the Mourning Light’ offers a presentation on support for those living with loss and grief. Andrea lost her 19-year-old son James to accidental drowning in 2005. As time has passed, she has gained much experience in how to successfully navigate the rocky road of the grieving process.
Andrea’s focus is on sharing James’s story and explaining how she deals with the ‘absence of his presence’, and how we can ultimately live life joyfully again, despite loss. She will describe the creation of her ‘grief toolbox’ which encompasses writing, spiritual nourishment, and water safety advocacy, all of which help her to live positively in the ‘mourning light’.
Our Ordinand Sarah Rock-Evans will be on hand at this event and members of our prayer ministry team will also be available.
Tea, coffee and cake will be offered after Andrea’s presentation and her second book, Living in the Mourning Light, published in 2019, will be available to purchase on the day (£8, cash only).
There is no charge for this event, which is provided as part of the Come and See programme for Exeter Diocese, a weekend of events linked to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s visit to Devon from 10 to 12 November 2023.
Please sign up via the 'more info' button below if you would like to attend, so we have numbers for refreshments. Thank you!
