To celebrate Palm Sunday there will be a service both at St Luke's Church and St Margaret's Church on Sunday 13th April. The services will include the blessing of Palms.

‘Open the Story at St Luke’s Forest School’ is held in the grounds of Countess Wear Community School. A bible story is explored with lively activities planned. It culminates in discussion, prayer and a song round a bonfire. There are regularly twenty to thirty people of all ages attending, and sometimes more. The majority of these are children but it is a whole family event.
The theme each Sunday changes.

A service of word and music which includes:-

Hosanna to the Son of David: Philip Moore.

A Procession of Palms: Malcolm Williamson.

Handel’s “Messiah”, part II, nos. 22 – 33.

And hymns All glory, laud & honour , You are the King. My song is love unknown, When I survey the wondrous cross.

On the second and fourth Sunday of the month, St Margaret's Church hosts a Choral Evensong following the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) order of service. This starts at 6.30pm unless otherwise indicated in the Newsletter.

A time for parents and carers with babies to come together, have coffee and discuss. Giving support to each other helps both parties. Jan Renwick gives a lead in this group.

On the second Monday of the month at 2.30 pm

Julian meetings are held all over the world to foster the practice and teaching of meditation and contemplative prayer within the Christian tradition.

It is a chance to still oneself from the busyness of life, to enter into deep silence, stillness. Many people repeat a word quietly to centre their prayer and as the mind may wander, come back to the word.

We start with music to steady our thoughts. This leads us into our 40 minutes of silence and then music once again to lead us out from the depths of stillness. We then finish with tea and cake and chat.

If you would like to come along and give it a go, you can be sure of a very warm welcome as we enter silence together. We look forward to meeting you.

Come together on a Wednesday afternoon for tea and cake or coffee and cake and share your stories.

A time for parents and children to come together in church. Coffee and chat for families and we provide a safe place to grow, be curious, and be supported by other caregivers and the core staff. Most of all, it's a fun environment to get messy!

This is the day in Holy Week when we celebrate the Last Supper during which Jesus washed the disciples feet.

A meditation to remember the day Jesus died on the cross. The service combines choral music, hymns and readings.

This is the third year of the Music Festival initiated as part of Nina Savievic's studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Prayer Breakfast

A simple breakfast, a hymn, Bible reading and prayer.

• On the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, we remember those who fought and lost their lives.
• We pray for all those struggling with their mental health.
• We thank God for the work of Christian Aid and the Big Brekkie being held today at St Luke’s Church for this charity.
• For our Devon County Show, the show chaplains and Churches Together stand at the show.
• For all those suffering with MS and those living with Dementia
• We pray for our St Luke’s Mission link Ben & Katy Ray and their work in Tanzania and Anne Plested supporting Bethlehem Bible College
• Current affairs

All are welcome.

The two churches come together on the 3rd Sunday of the month for a communion service. We alternate between St Margaret's Church and St Luke's Church.
