Give to Go Green is a Church of England scheme by which parishes are encouraged to take actions to reduce their carbon footprint. Funds raised, up to an agreed target, are doubled during a six-week campaign. An innovation was the collection of old computer cables, charger leads and any other redundant wire and non-ferrous metal which was sold for the project. We exceeded our target, and the final total was £7189, which will be increased by Gift Aid.

The fundraising has now finished, but the intention is to install infra-red heaters into the north transept, so it can be used for smaller meetings without needing to heat the whole church. We have also had work done on our gas boilers to make them more efficient. Further updates will be published as progress is made. All the money that has been raised under this scheme will be used for “green” projects.
