Through nine Bible Readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols or hymns. The tradition of Nine Lessons and Carols was established by Rev. Eric Milner-White at King’s College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve in 1918.

This simple service offers an expression of hope that despite the mess that humans have made of our world, God has a plan of redemption for it.

St Nicolas' Church, Ankara, is a community of Christians from around the world who have found a home in the broad experience of the Anglican (Episcopalian) Church. Please consider joining us - you will be very welcome. After the church service, we continue our fellowship over light refreshments. 

As we are situated in the grounds of the British Embassy, it is necessary to inform us of your intention to join our worship service. We are required to provide the British Embassy with the list of our guests by Wednesday evening. Please send your information to the church gmail account, with a photocopy of your passport, and await our confirmation. If this does not happen, sadly you will not be able to access the compound.
