As the church's year draws to a close and a new year begins on Advent Sunday, it is a good time to take stock. What are the things for which we want to give thanks to God?
We have had a year of amazing events - concerts, choral music and events to showcase what the church can offer. We had a wonderful 24 hours away to focus on our strategy, we have found willing volunteers to take new responsibilities within the church, we have rebuilt our website from scratch, and at the same time we’ve rebuilt our relationship with the English cemetery. We have also had some concerns, particularly with the future direction of our congregation at Velez-Malaga.
But as we give thanks to God, we want to thank you, our congregation, for giving so generously of your time, your prayers, your love and your commitment. The Chaplaincy could not exist without you!
We are particularly grateful to those who participate in our Count Me In planned giving scheme and indeed those who give in other ways. Our level of (regular) giving is growing and that will be a great help as we move forward into 2025.
Our End of Year Appeal
And at last, our finances are becoming manageable, and, unlike last year, we now have the opportunity to finish this year with a positive balance. But we are not there yet: in fact we are forecasting a modest deficit (€2-3k), but it is small enough that we believe we can bridge the gap.
Could you help us? Would you consider making a small end of year gift to the Chaplaincy, so that we might turn it round and finish the year well? If you follow this link, https://stgeorgesmalaga.com/appeal/, you can make a donation, or become a regular giver, or volunteer to take up a new responsibility within the church.
Thank you for your generosity – of money, skills and time, but also for your prayers and fellowship. Together we will build a sustainable future for our church!
