24th February, Salinas Church 11.30am, Lentern Eucharist with Ecological Liturgy🌍

Occuring
for 1 hour
Venue
Salinas Anglican Congregation
Address
Church of the Sagrado Corazon de Maria, Estacion de Salinas, Archidona, Malaga Province, 29315, Spain

Lent is the 40 days (not including Sundays) from Ash Wednesday to Easter Saturday. It is time to prepare ourselves for Easter, but that requires of us to go deeper into God, and relive the passion and death of Christ in Holy Week.

On this Saturday our thoughts and prayers will follow the theme of Climate & Ecological Emergency. Our planet desparately needs our help and we urgently need to shake off the myths about ourselves which keep us from acting with determination to reduce - or even reverse - climate change.

Lent is a time for honesty. It is appropriate in this season that we learn again to focus on doing God's will and restoring his creation.

The service will include the imposition of ashes for those who were unable to come on Ash Wednesday.

Salinas Anglican Congregation

WELCOME TO THE SALINAS ANGLICAN CONGREGATION

'Salinas', 'salty' in Spanish, reminds us of the moment when Jesus gave his disciples their mission:

You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5).

Our congregation is part of the Malaga Chaplaincy. We meet in Malaga, Salinas and Velez-Malaga: three churches within one Chaplaincy. Click here for the Chaplaincy website and details of the other congregations.
